Live Painters usually work on one piece of art, for the enjoyment of all. How to decide if you want 1 or 2 artists?Great question—it's one we receive frequently. While it might seem more convenient to hire two artists for three hours instead of one for six, there are some additional costs to keep in mind.
Example: The artist you selected can accommodate approximately 100 people in six hours. If you prefer two artists for three hours each to serve those same 100 people more quickly, you must book two separate artists for three hours each. This is necessary because each artist has their own setup time, travel time, preparation time, and associated expenses to consider. What if I don't have the venue for 6hrs?First, evaluate whether there's an additional location, such as a bridal suite or afterparty venue, where your artist can join to draw the bridal party. If this doesn’t seem like the best option, and booking one artist for six hours isn't feasible, consider requesting them to create 20-30 VIP drawings in advance. This approach can significantly reduce the drawing time during the event (prices will vary by artist).
You could also ask the artist to take photographs at the event and complete the drawings in their studio afterward. Both options are excellent but require more coordination with the artist and your guests when distributing the drawings later. The simplest, albeit more costly, solution would be to hire two artists for three hours. Should I add "The Couple's" Portrait to my package?We can definitely capture your experience of being drawn at your event if that’s what you’re looking for. However, I always advise my couples that it can be challenging to earmark time to come to the artist’s area before the event concludes and even though it takes just 10 minutes. The artist typically prefers to spend a bit more time with you, the couple, which can affect the overall guest count availability. Additionally, having the couple's artwork already finished and on display immediately lets guests know what’s happening. :) For this reason, I encourage couples to order their art in advance based on photos, but we can accommodate either option.
Do you have artist's near me?We boast a national team of more than 50 artists located in major cities throughout the United States. It’s highly probable that we have an artist nearby, or one who would be happy to travel to your location.
Do I need my painter to be "Live" at my event?If you have your heart set on having a live artist there painting, then yes. This essentially means the artist will work on your painting on location during the time of your reception. Building on references they have already collected about your special event. The "performer" in them then takes over and they will engage with your guests, and humor your drunk uncle when he comes over to ask us to draw us like one of our French girls. However, if you are only interested in the final piece, and don't feel the performance is a good fit for your event, you may opt out of the Live service, which will cut down our prep/performance/travel and set up times, thusly saving you money.
